What a funny team, this version of Jurgen’s Reds have been. I guess this 4-2 sums up the season. To be fair, apart from the last 20 minutes, it’s probably one of the best performances of the season. But once again, create loads of chances, miss loads of chances, and struggle to keep a clean sheet. How can you be 4-0 up with 20 minutes to go and still be worried about potentially dropping points? They’re mad.

For me, it’s the first thing that needs addressing. Their lack of goals of late hasn’t really concerned me. It’s obviously annoyed me cause it’s come at an awful time, but they allow teams to have far too many opportunities on goal. Whether that’s stemming from the midfield, I don’t know. Personally, I’d be on the hunt for the next great defensive midfielder, and look to bring him in on day one. Will they do that though? Who knows. I’m just annoyed the season has fizzled out the way it has. The Reds are clearly good enough to be at least 6 points better off, but they’re not 6 points better off, and it’s probably a fair reflection of how they’ve been throughout the season. The late wins were eventually going to stop happening.

All in all, it’s been a fun season. Frustrating and mad at times, but it’s certainly been entertaining. There’s been times where they’ve been so infuriating (I’m thinking of Luton away), there’s been times where they’ve been unlucky (Spurs away) and there’s been times where they’ve been excellent (Newcastle away). Do they deserve to win the title? I’d say no. Would I have taken a trophy and top 4 before the season started. Absolutely. 2 more to go. Download the free phone wallpaper below!
